Get prepared with a pair of comfortable walking shoes to explore the older parts of Kuala Lumpur city. Walk pass beautiful and colourful street arts, which have brought a new life to this area. This area has become famous ‘insta’ spot for locals and tourists-alike. Next, continue on to KL Forest Eco Park – also known as Bukit Nanas Forest Reserve, passing by a local Chinese primary school and a century-old St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Get close to the forest canopy on the treetop walkways and observation tower, standing 200 metres above ground.
Later, take a shuttle city bus (GOKL) to Chinatown. Visit “Lost in Chinatown” to know more about Chinese society in Malaysia and also Chinatowns around the world. Not to be missed is the Chinatown’s delicious signature drink – air Longan kering. It is a mixture of several fruits (dried longan, monk fruit and melon) – a truly refreshing drink to beat the hot sunny day.
The tour ends at the Central Market, one of the focal points of the downtown area. Inside this attractive Art Deco building are craft shops, restaurants and cultural performances and the market is a great showcase for local painters, craftspeople and musicians. Here, visitors can learn more about Malaysia’s culture by joining hands-on class such as the Batik DIY workshop.
